Breast Cancer Sucks

Hey guys — I was told by a little bird that I had not posted my donation page for the Walk for the Cure. I thought I had but just in case, here ’tis: Bon’s Page

November 5 – 7, 2010
I will be walking 60 miles over the course of 3 days; 20 miles a day. I will be camping out at night with the thousands of other participants who will be making the same walk.

Every walker participating is required to raise $2,300. Many raise far more than that. All of the net proceeds of the donations are invested into research, community outreach programs, education, hospice care, clinics.

I feel very strongly about this cause. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. One in eight of our mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, friends. Breast cancer kills. I don’t want anyone I care about to be taken from me because they didn’t have the resources, didn’t know how to check, or a newly researched medicine wasn’t available.

So, here’s how you can be part of this too. You can support me and the cause by making a donation. Follow the link above to visit my personal fund-raising Web page and make a donation. If you don’t want to give online, you can download and print a donation form from that page to send in a donation via mail. Another thought is to ask your employer if they would consider making a matching gift to your donation – doubling your money in one swoop!

It’s going to be tough to fit fund-raising and training into my schedule but I know I can do it. I’m going to raise that $2,300 for the cause. Maybe the money I raise will save someone I love.
