Imagine, if you will, a scene in north Austin. One woman is at home by herself. Morning sunlight streams through the windows. She is checking her email and drinking coffee. Suddenly, the door behind her opens and a guy carrying what appears to be window blinds walks in through unlocked door.
WOMAN: That’d be ME
CONSTRUCTION WORKER DUDE: CWD
ME: Hey!
CWD: Oops, sorry.
CWD turns and heads out of the door and down the stairs of the private entryway.
ME heads to door and locks it.
There was no reason that he had to be there. No work orders pending. Nothing. There is construction & painting going on in the complex but ME’s building is (in theory) done.
Called apartment manager who has promised to call the lead contractor. Still waiting on a response.
I, in fact, did not need this today. I had a bitch of a day yesterday which involved:
A. Being charged by the nervous dog that I am caring for; complete with growling and baring of teeth and fun shit like that. Luckily, I knew how to handle aggressive breeds due to my ex-roommate’s owning Rotties. But, still. Scared the water out of me.
B. Being lost for over an hour and a half while I tried to track down the massage table — I wound up at the intersection of 71 & 620. You know…past Bee Caves. 😦 That just *sucked* in an expensive and nerve-wracking sort of way.
C. 1/2 tank of gas lost to that endeavor
D. Bad communication stuff yesterday
E. Migraine due to tension/stress
Just…fuck, ENOUGH Universe, mmkay?
*hugs*
Yeek!
He should be very grateful that you don’t respond violently to surprises.
Yeah. I would have been yelling my head off at him, at the very least.
