Seen ’em both. The Others is nicely creepy without going overboard. That is sort of the mood I am looking for.
Rosemary’s Baby is dated & misogynistic. Good for its time but … eh, not my cuppa.
I can agree about Rosemary’s Baby. Ira Levin was a helluva writer, but his views on women were, um, prefeminist.
What did you end up watching? The Sixth Sense works, too, and maybe my favorite vampire movie (though they never use the word) Near Dark.

Event Horizon. I can barely remember that movie because it was so freakishly frightening/disturbing that I blocked it from my mind.
I’m a bit late on this, but eXistenZ comes to mind if you haven’t seen it. Or really anything by David Cronenberg.
