Sturgy was in the hospital. Which is sort of a silly statement as she *works* in a hospital.
But this time, it was because she was having chest pains.
Luckily its not heart related. She apparently has the heart of a twenty year old. (damnit, we told her not to take souvenirs!) She is having esophageal spasms.
I just got an email from her stating that she is fine and that she is now on meds for this.
I’m thinking…there’s medicine for spasms of the esophagus???

Sure there is
There are several anti-spasmodics that act specifically on smooth muscle, which is what the whole digestive tract is. I’ve taken one before, although for the life of me I can’t now remember which one it was.

I’m just continually amazed at Western medicine’s ability to come up with drugs that target an area or a sympton so specifically. You know?
There are meds for all sorts of crazy things. Even toenail fungus. I saw a commercial for that one.
