My computer ate my CD. No really; it ate it. I put it in, it was fine. It started playing and doing what it was supposed to do. I merrily went back to what I was doing.
KER-SNAP!
I finally managed to get the drive open. Out came tiny shards of what used to be a lovely CD. *mourn*
Plus, there appears to be more shards stuck up into the drive itself ’cause the door on it won’t close. (insert favorite expletive here) So now the drive door is hung open. Its like my computer is sticking its tongue out at me.
All I gotta say is that the company who contacted me yesterday for a possible job better do as they promised and call me for an interview today. ’cause today has already turned into a *bitch* of a day.
‘splode
actually, it was probably the cd.
Sometimes cds get micro-fractures. The high-spin when using them makes it worse and worse, heat from the laser makes it worse, until they crack and twirl apart (making that fabulous ‘splode noise).
You can take apart the computer, take off the case, etc, turn it every which way and probably shake out all the pieces.
Eep. What else has happened to you today aside from the horrible CD Debacle? Should I stop and get the cheese and noodles?
