The Teen was on her way to Houston for BF visitation.
She was on 183, right before the Bastrop turnoff.
Someone cut her off, and she lost control of the car.
And whapped it into a tree.
Totaling the car and causing distress.
She Is Fine. So is her passenger.
Me, on the other hand? I am eying the Universe with a jaundiced and bitchy eye.
Eek! So glad everyone is all right.
Thank you, doll. They are all physically alright. Shaken up and distressed but doing ok.
Holy shitballs. Glad everyone’s okay.
That pretty much *exactly* sums up my feelings on this, V. I saw the pictures of the car — they are soooooooo lucky. This could have been lots worse.
No doubt. *big hugs* I am so happy she and her passenger walked away unharmed.
Me too. *hug* I had my calculation exam deadline yesterday and then Pharm class itself so I wasn’t the one who fetched. Big hug to Mister Man for being a sweetie. He looked ’em over and gave them the go ahead. Honestly, if it hadn’t been him to look them over, I’d of made them go to the ER.
Happy to hear everything turned out okay. She must have been pretty shaken up, as I am sure you were.
She was; they both were (her BF was in the car with her).
Mister Man is the one who picked them up. He gave them a once over and made sure that they weren’t hurt, concussed or anything like that; which they weren’t. *big sigh of relief*
Having been there myself, please make sure she at least gets checked out by the EMTs.
BF is an emergency/trauma nurse. He is the one who picked ’em up; he looked them over and made sure that they were fine. He also drove them to Giddings last night so that The Teen’s BF’s parent could pick them up and take them on to Houston.
I’m glad she’s okay. *hug*
*hug*
Me too. Very very very glad.
Oh no! Glad to hear she’s ok!!!
Thank you.
As of this moment, they are mostly past the shaken and she is heading into the Angry Part of Being in a Wreck.
Ah. Been there. Fun stage! 😛
OMG!! so grateful that her and her passenger were fine. That is so freaking scary! *hugs to all*
Scared the hell out of me, I tell you. *hug* Thank god for Mister Man; he picked them up, checked them over and then later took them to meet The Teen’s BF’s parents in Giddings.
*hugs* good good; how bad is the car
I’ll post the pictures.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK *hugs all around*
*hug*
Thank you, hon.
Aaaaaaaah!
So glad everyone is okay.
*hugs and wine*
*hug*
Gah! Wanna bet the other driver was on her cell phone?
Nothing quite like riding a motorcycle almost every day to remind you that yes, in fact, everyone on the road is actively trying to kill you. Even if just by lulling you into a sense of complacency.
No amount of money.
The Teen said that the driver whipped in front of her car with maybe a couple of feet to spare. I am guessing because they suddenly realized that they needed that exit.
I will post pictures of what the tree did to her car. They are very very lucky that no one was injured.
The other driver? Gone.
At least she is okay. *hugs*
*nod*
And I am so incredibly thankful for that.
Yeeeeowch! I’m glad they’re both okay! Sucks all kinds of ways about the car, and about the scare, and about all of the financial crap that lands any time anything happens to or with an automobile… blah.
Duck, she was only carrying the min insurance. They called her and said — no money for car. Too bad so sad. She is gonna have to part it out to get *anything* financial from it.
At least she walked away.
…great. And this is one of the reasons why I laugh when people insist that I need to get a license and drive a car. You’re forced to have insurance, and more often than not the insurance company finds a way to not come through when things go south.
At least there are no medical expenses on top of the automobile situation. Eep.
Glad it is all ok… other than the car, but that is expendable.
And The Teen most certainly is *not*.
*hug*, thanks Michiel.
Oh man, scary! Glad she’s okay.
Me too.
The Universe has been pooping on my family thus far this year. 2009 is FIRED.
Crikes!! Glad to hear she and her passenger are okay.
Thanks, H. I am too. I will post pictures of the car. They are lucky in the extreme.
Thank you,
Shaken up worse than a James Bond drink but otherwise unharmed.
Oh noooooo! Same as everyone else, I’m glad everyone is ok.
So’m I. I am going to post pictures of what is left of her car. ::shudders::
Holy crap! I’m glad they are OK. But… DAMN!
Fucking ASSHATS!
And he just kept on going; caused a wreck and didn’t even stay to investigate.
Unfortunately, it’s something I’ve been seeing more and more in Austin.
Julie got side swiped a couple of years ago. He did not run, though he was an illegal alien “visiting” from another country with no insurance (and not expected to show for his ticket). Luckily, she was not hurt and we had full coverage.
Glad everyone is OK.
Well, no, not really – I have /intentions/ for the person whose actions caused the wreck.
But otherwise.
If ever I get my hands on the creep….
😦 well, if it’s any consolation, she and I can now both be in the “crashed into tree as teenager” club (I have the scars to prove it!) I’m so glad she’s ok.
Thanks, honey. I will let her know of her exalted status *hug*
Holy suckage!
And I thought I’d had a rough week or two.
Did she have coverage to get the car replaced?
Nope. She was carrying the bare minimum. The insurance people have already told her that they will not be cutting any sort of check for her.
Eeeeeeeeeeeee! That’s scary! I’m so glad she’s okay!
Thank you, doll. I am so so so glad that they are both ok.
Alsoalso fuckity. Make sure she gets checked for whiplash…you know how it can sneak up one later.
I’m glad she came out physically OK.
Dang, but if I ever get my hands on anyone who’s done that to anyone I care about, it’s going to be ugly, just like their face in the end.
