The scale…she is NOT my friend

Good lord, the holidays have been a disaster for my waistline! Drat those holiday yummies and parties. Everywhere I went this year it was “here try my super-dooper cheesecake fudge and have a glass of wine while you’re at it.” Or three! Of each!

It’s all good though. I think that “everything in moderation” is going to be my mantra for the new year. There is nothing wrong with the occasional glass of wine or slice of pumpkin pie. Just not for every meal.

I come by my hedonism honestly; my family *loooooooves* to eat. With a gourmet cook for a mom and a chef for a bro, I am pretty well doomed for being able to eat grilled chicken and raw veggies every meal. OTOH, there are tons of good recipes that I know I can re-arrange to be fab AND healthy.

So, I am going to dust off the diet filter on this here journal. I do great when I get into a groove. Starting on Jan 5th (because I know that there is NO way that I am going to be able to stick to a diet during the holidays) it’s back to the weights and running. I can’t say that I am exactly *excited* about getting back to it. But, it will be nice to get back on track.
