On the job search again.
On the one hand, I do not have to return to the Place of Everchaning Policy and Political Assraping.
On the other, I have no money.
I have pushed school back to starting in November. I’m bummed but I simply don’t have the money to pull it off right now. If I were a single gal with no one but me and the kitty to provender for – sure! What the hell! But I have a child, a mortgage, a car payment etc. etc. ad nauseatum.
And this was just as I got a doctor to say, “yup, them boobies are far too big. Let’s lop ’em!” Must have money to pay insurance to have the surgery done. So will be doing a major scramble to find *something* to make a buck at. Yessssssssss….already I am starting the great job safari. Can’t you just hear the drums?
The Process 
Congratulations on the boob thing–I told you that you would get a good vibe off my surgeon. He’s a good surgeon. You’ll be happy. And yes, I have a crush on my 62 year old plastic surgeon. 😉

You have to admit, that’s one of the weirder things you’ll have done in your life. The other, related thing is when you’re sitting on the edge of the operating table, doped out of your mind, and the man is drawing his cutting plan all over you with what appears to be n erasable sharpie. Oh, and then, coming to consciousness and looking to see a crucifix on the wall. One with too much clothing.
I’ll ask for the crucifix free room.

By the end of the day tomorrow I’ll know if anyone has taken the job internally (but if that happened we’ll still have an opening somewhere else…beauty!). So, it’s TAPS Coordinator, TAPS standing for Technical Assitance Program Something. Basically, you’ll be in charge of meeting and event planning for various violence-against-women-related nonprofits. They call you or email you and tell you where and when they want to meet and how many people and all, and you help make it happen. I think in some cases you get sent to go supervise. I don’t know that you’ll make as much as you were making when I met you, but I do know you’ll make more than I do, so probably 30s somewhere.
I’ll keep you posted, if you’re still interested. And they have hired on my recommendation before. *wink*
I wish there was something I could do, all I can do is light a candle and send energy and good wishes your way. I do have a prosperity spell, if you want me to send it to you, pretty simple actually, just need to find it again… *grin*
Can you do transcriptions? You could make extra money transcribing tapes for people doing disertations at school, attorneys who need like 6 tapes transcribed for a case, etc. All you need is a trascription machine. I got one on ebay for $45.00, works on standard size tapes, and has a speed control. It would be something you could do from home, giving you control over when you work, etc.
How big is your home? Would you feel comfortable doing a Belly Dancing and/or Trance Dance seminars or classes? Again something you can do at home and you control when and who.
Just a thought or two.
Let me know if I can do anything or if you need anything, it’s not THAT far from DFW to Austin after all, and I only have to work every other Saturday… 😉
