There was just the most amazing light show in the sky earlier. Big, BIG lightning arcs across the sky. Whole continents of clouds being lit up from the inside. The temp dropped like 10 degrees while I was standing in the middle of the apartment parking lot. With my head tipped back and watching the sky. Pajamas and flip flops. I’m sure the neighbors are convinced I’m some sort of HIGH class now. ::laugh::

Next week is gonna be a bitch-kitty. I can already tell. Monday = stress test and echocardiogram
Tuesday = doing laundry, cleaning house to be ready for return from hospital
Wednesday = start clear liquid diet, leave Wed night for DFW, fast starts midnight
Thursday = Pre-op testing, clear liquids continue after, fast starts midnight
Friday = Five AM arrival at hospital. Second slot for surgery in the day. I’m guessing about 8/10 AM.
Sat – Sun = Hospital recovery.

Whee. And just to add to the fun? Went to the doctor’s today because my left ear has been bugging the crap outta me. Hurting, itching. I figured it was allergies. Nope. Ear infection. I’m on anti-b’s now, trying to get it cleared up before next week.

  1. WooHoo! I’m so excited for you – good luck and please keep us filled in on how it goes. Are you going to post the infamous ‘before’ picture?

I had a chemical stress test/EKG/Echo yesterday, since I pooped out on the treadmill test a couple weeks ago. That was interesting, but not anything scary.

That lightning show was something else, wasn’t it? Don’t feel bad – the kids and I were doing the same thing in the front yard, with traffic whizzing by. The poor dog almost had a nervous breakdown. *g*

    1. Before pics, hrmm. I don’t know. But if I do it will be on obesityhelp.com.

What is a chemical stress test?

I told J last night that my hillbilly family roots were showing. Standing outside, in my jammies, in a lightning storm about fifteen feet from a greenbelt and ten feet from a metal carport. Yee-haw! Smarts run in my family!

      1. A chemical stress test is one where they hook you up to an EKG and run an Echo at the same time they pump you full of Dobutamine and Atropine – basically taking your heart to where it would be if you ran on a treadmill, uphill, for 20 minutes. It was an interesting experience, to say the least. *g*

  2. Jeez hon – have enough to do and all??

    *hugs*

So…you’ll be pain med-ing your way through the rest of the retrograde…good idear, O Lord!
What’s going to be the arrangement for Summer? Does she know about the importance of not roughhousing with Mommy for a while? Will someone be checking in on you a lot?

    1. Oh, hell it ain’t nothing. I didn’t even include the daily (new) routine of getting up in the morning at the crap of dawn to get Summer off to school on time. On time being last bell = 7:45 AM.

When’s the last day of the retrograde?

Summer is staying home with John. She cannot miss school this early in the year. So yes, that fairly well means that I’m going into the surgery/recovery room all by me onesie. Savvy? (to paraphrase that loveable scamp, Jack Sparrow) *snort*
No, I’m not best pleased. But we cannot find a way (that we can afford) to make sure that Summer doesn’t miss school. We’ve gota plan. Its moderately cunning. And J will leave town around 6PM to head up to DFW. Hopefully they’ll let him in the room.

Summer knows not to roughhouse too much with Mommy. We explained that Mommy was going to the doctor. Having just recently had her booster series (4 in one sitting) she was concerned that I was going to have shots. I told her that I was going to have very special shots in my tummy and that she couldn’t push on my tummy for awhile.
I simply could not think of a better way to explain laproscopic surgery to her. *grimace*

      1. I think the fun and giggles officially comes to an end on September 2, but you know it takes awhile to completely fuck off, and the best giggles are usually saved for the beginning and end. Whee.

I dunno – do you think “I’m having parts removed” would be too graphic for her? Or “Mommy is going to be very sore and on lots of meds?”
Ah well – having her in school during the day will be better than having to tend to her all the time while you’re recovering.

Will your mom not be able to come see you at the hospital? Are you going to stay there in DFW for a bit?

      1. Spirited Away was such a great film!!

The Batty Fairy is an animated icon that was made from the Candybar Doll Maker Website! My friend animated her for me! Making the dolls is addictive!
