Yanno, I haven’t been to the Church in a long, long while. Plus, would like to see Mom. I wonder if I could kidnap some friends for a mini road trip.
ETA – nevermind; gotta stay in town this weekend.

So. Paranormal Activity. I am going to see it this weekend. Wanna make it a group grope activity? I say – from experience – that spooky ass movies are ALWAYS better with a large group of friends. And if we can see it at the Alamo – with some vino and munchies – even better, says I.
I have some gaming and a test or two to participate in this weekend. Not to mention said studying for them. I am trying to get a feel for what ya’ll time schedules are like so that we can maybe match up.
What do you say? Sounds fun, don’t it?
PS -> Alamo has it playing all weekend long, so flexible within movie show times.
Last week, I was offered a job at OLDJOBSITEo’DOOM. They are actually a really good place to work. And of course, they are in a fantastic industry. The only reason I left was because they had laid off about 80% of their staff, including yours truly.
At any rate, they called/emailed to let me know that I could come and work for them again, if I had a mind to. I seriously considered it. I mean, seriously. It was a perm job offer with bennies and in the game industry.
I went to my current boss and let him know that I had a permanent job offer on the table from my previous job. He asked to be given the opportunity to make a counter-offer. I said “yes”, of course.
There was some back and forth but in the end current job came back with a nice raise. I accepted – at this time there has not been paperwork on the raise but, I am positive that that is simply a matter of time. Hopefully, with the raise I will be able to pay down some of the debt that I owe. That would be a goodness.
In other work related news, I also got a ping for a job in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. You know – the state where my sweetie live? Yeah. Making as much as I make here but with benefits and all that jazz. Plus, Florida. Of course, the drawback is that its in Florida. I would have to seriously consider the impact that would make on the Girlie. *ponders* This is not going to be an easy decision. Nope, not at all.
Dry for months and suddenly, WHAMMO! Job offers galore! There must be a planetary alignment or some such. **

Also, went to DFW on Friday to go have bday dinner with my folks. It was my Dad’s 64th revolution around the sun. The drive and visit were not bad at all. Dad was being pleasant – I’m thinking he was taking his meds like he’s supposed to. Mom and Molls were there. Plus, I got to see my brother, his wife and their baby. Jack-Jack, the ever cute.
We took Dad out for a tapas dinner at a Mediterranean place. It was quite, quite tasty. The staff were really having a ball as well. Because we were the only people in the place***, they kept coming up and saying “try this one” and setting down new stuff we hadn’t actually ordered. Two pitchers of sangria and free tapas because the owner/cook/chief waiter was in a great mood. Not too shabby.

Still waiting on hearing back from Those In Charge where BF will be for the next couple of years. Its entirely possible that he is going to be spending the next 2-5 years in FL. Its less possible (although we hope like mad things) that he could be here in TX within the year. Since both are theoretically possible, we have been on tenterhooks with anticipation. Supposedly, there will soon be paperwork that will alleviate this mystery.
I have never, ever been good at the patience and waiting thing.
At any rate, we are supposed to hear something in the next couple of days. While it is a nerve-wracking experience wondering what the paperwork might say, it will be fantastic to finally know and be able to plan for our future with better confidence.

** I have this mental image of a pair of grease stained legs sticking out from under a blanket of stars – like a mechanic under the hood of the Universe – saying in a Cliff Claven sort of voice, “Oh! Well, here’s your problem right here!” *yoinks Jupiter out of the niche its lodged in and sets it spinning in a new groove in the sky* “There ya go. That should get you where you need to go. You know that Jupiter is the ruler of the house of work and ethics and other stuff? Oh, yeah. Totally true. What you should do now, is….”
*** We had gone in early, 5 PM to accommodate both baby Jack and Moll’s schedule. He had to have his bath at 7 and she had the Homecoming game to go to.
